Purple carpet had to go- Turning $20k into $70k!

As a Realtor, I’ve seen my fair share of houses with “great bones” that could use a little TLC. But when my client approached me with their late mother’s home, let’s just say it was a diamond in the rough with emphasis on the rough. We’re talking purple carpet that would make Prince proud, 90’s brass light fixtures that should have stayed in the past, and murals painted on the walls. It needed more than just a little love—it needed a whole makeover and then some!

I knew that this house had potential. First order of business? Bring in the cavalry—a.k.a. a crew of skilled professionals to handle the heavy lifting. New floors, fresh paint, and updated light fixtures were just the beginning. While they tackled the interior, my clients and I rolled up our sleeves and dove headfirst into the tackling landscaping.

Weeks were spent pressure washing, landscaping (cue the backaches from raking decades of old leaves), and making countless dump runs. But hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was a picture-perfect property.

Once the remodel was complete and the dust had settled (literally), it was time to bring in the big guns—our in-house staging crew. With their magic touch, the house went from drab to fab in no time. We enlisted the help of professional photographers, videographers, drone pilots—you name it, we had it. After all, if you’re going to sell a house, you might as well make it look like a million bucks.

And wouldn’t you know it? Our efforts paid off big time. Within a week, we had a buyer lined up, and thanks to our strategic approach (read: no concessions), my clients walked away with a hefty profit. How hefty, you ask? Well, let’s just say that their $20,000 investment in the remodel translated into an extra $70,000 in their pockets. Not too shabby for a few weeks of hard work and a bit of elbow grease!

But beyond the dollar signs, my favorite part of this story is the trust my clients placed in me and my vision. They took a leap of faith, and together, we turned what could have been a daunting task into a resounding success. Because when it comes to real estate, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Each house has its own story to tell, and it’s my job to help my clients craft a plan tailored to their goals.

So whether you’re looking to sell your childhood home or finally bid farewell to that purple carpet, remember this: with the right team by your side, anything is possible. So go ahead, reach out to me, and let’s turn your real estate dreams into reality. After all in the immortal words of the Beastie Boys, there’s no time like the present to work shit out! And who knows, maybe you’ll discover some hidden treasures along the way—just hopefully not buried beneath more purple carpet!
